Read MoreHide Full Article

Key Takeaways

  • Philips launches HyperVue Integrated in the U.S., uniting coronary imaging and physiology in one system.
  • HyperVue combines DeepOCT NIRS imaging with AI-driven X1-FFR to simplify coronary assessment during PCI.
  • HyperVue's permanent installation and bedside controls eliminate setup steps and simplify PCI workflows.

Koninklijke Philips (PHG - Free Report) recently announced the U.S. commercial launch of its HyperVue Integrated System, a new single-room configuration designed to bring advanced coronary imaging and physiology assessment together in the catheterization laboratory (cath lab). The system combines DeepOCT+NIRS intravascular imaging with X1-FFR physiology assessment to support more efficient workflows and informed clinical decisions during percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) procedures.

Per management, Philips aims to equip physicians with technologies that support confident clinical decisions while minimizing procedural complexity and time. The company is focused on integrating advanced intravascular imaging into routine, high-volume interventional workflows. Its portfolio brings together imaging, physiology and procedural guidance, enabling physicians to access relevant clinical information throughout PCI procedures.

PHG Stock Trend Following the News

PHG stock has gained 3.2% since the announcement on Monday. Year to date, the stock has returned 5.1% against the industry’s 16.6% fall. Meanwhile, the S&P 500 has risen 9.7% during the same timeframe.

The launch could strengthen Philips' competitive position in the coronary intervention market by expanding its portfolio of integrated image-guided therapy solutions. Making advanced imaging and physiology tools readily accessible may encourage adoption among high-volume cath labs seeking greater procedural efficiency. The development could also create opportunities to deepen relationships with hospitals and support demand for Philips' broader interventional cardiology portfolio.

PHG currently has a market capitalization of $27.12 billion.

More on the HyperVue Integrated System

HyperVue Integrated combines DeepOCT+NIRS intravascular imaging with X1-FFR, Philips' angiography-derived coronary physiology solution. X1-FFR is an FDA-cleared, AI-driven platform that calculates fractional flow reserve (FFR) using a single angiographic view, helping simplify physiological assessment without requiring additional drug administration.

Unlike the mobile HyperVue Imaging System, which must be transported, connected and prepared for each procedure, the new configuration is permanently installed in a dedicated interventional suite. This design eliminates several setup steps and keeps imaging and physiology capabilities readily available during procedures. A table-mounted touchscreen allows clinicians to control the system at the bedside within the sterile field, while controller updates are designed to simplify operation.

The launch expands Philips' coronary guidance portfolio, which includes intravascular ultrasound (IVUS) and physiology solutions. At TCT 2026, Philips showcased HyperVue Integrated alongside IntraSight Plus, its interventional guidance platform that combines IVUS, iFR/FFR physiology, co-registration, tri-registration and real-time device visualization.

Together, these solutions strengthen Philips' offerings across coronary disease assessment, treatment planning, procedural guidance and verification of treatment results.

Industry Prospects Favoring the Market

According to Grand View Research, the global interventional cardiology devices market is estimated to be valued at $12.1 billion in 2026 and is projected to witness a CAGR of 7.3% through 2033.

Factors such as the rising prevalence of cardiovascular diseases, growing demand for minimally invasive coronary procedures, increasing adoption of advanced intravascular imaging and physiology-guided technologies, an aging population and technological advancements in AI-powered diagnostic and imaging systems are expected to drive market growth.

Other News

Philips recently launched UniGuide 3D Live Guidance in Europe and other CE-marked markets, extending its Azurion image-guided therapy platform. The solution integrates pre-procedural CT insights into live workflows, supporting more informed, patient-specific decisions during coronary, structural heart and complex vascular procedures. It offers 3D overlay visualization and synchronized imaging to improve procedural guidance and workflow efficiency. In a Philips usability study, 93% of participating clinicians saw potential to improve cath lab efficiency. The solution is not yet available in the United States.
